Water Donations Still Being Accepted for Service-Learning Trip to Flint, Michigan

More than 25 students from IUP will travel to Flint, Mich., on March 31 to donate water to the city’s residents. So far, the IUP group has collected more than 400 bottles of water to date and received nearly $300 in funds for purchase of water.

A double book launch and conversation with the authors event will be held at 5:00 p.m. on March 28, 2016 at the IUP University Museum to celebrate the works of three IUP faculty members. Drs. Christian Vaccaro and Melissa Swauger, two faculty members in the department of sociology, have authored “Unleashing Manhood in the Cage: Masculinity and Mixed Martial Arts.” Dr. Aimee Wilson, a faculty member in the Department of English, is the author of “Conceived in Modernism: The Aesthetics and Politics of Birth Control.”

IUP to Offer Memorial Program on 14th Anniversary of September 11 Attacks

The memorial program will be held next to the university’s September 11 memorial in the Oak Grove, between Sutton Hall and Stapleton Library. The event will include a remembrance of the three IUP alumni lost in the World Trade Center attacks: William Moskal, a 1979 graduate; Donald Jones, a 1980 graduate; and William Sugra, a 1993 graduate. In addition to the service, other events to honor the memory of those lost will be held around campus.
