HersheyPark and Windish Music Productions will hold auditions at IUP for musicians for the summer 2012 season on Tuesday, February 21, 2012, from 3:30–6:30 p.m. in the Jazz Rehearsal Room (Rm. 116) of Cogswell Hall.

Piano faculty member Henry Wong Doe will perform at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, New York City, on March 26, 2012.

TrumpetFest will feature performances by IUP trumpet students and faculty members, along with a presentation by guest artist Nyela Basney, director of Orvieto Musica.

On Saturday morning, January 28, 2012, from 10:30 to noon, the IUP String Project will host its opening event of the semester, an Open House for new and returning students, in Cogswell Hall.

The IUP String Project, a community music education outreach program for children ages 5–18 in Indiana and the surrounding area, is now accepting applications for private lesson instruction on violin, viola, cello, and bass.

Jack Stamp’s “Concertino for Solo Percussionist and Band,” written for the Tar River Symphony Society in honor of Harold Jones, is scheduled for a March 2012 release on the Klavier label.

Dr. Henry Wong Doe, piano faculty member in IUP’s Department of Music, visited Shanghai and Hong Kong, China, and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, during Thanksgiving break 2011.
