The Department of Music at IUP has a rich history dating back to the founding of this institution over a hundred years ago. Graduates of the department have gone on to distinguished careers in performance, teaching, and other fields within the music profession. Housed in the recently renovated Cogswell Hall, the Department of Music has more than three hundred students and thirty-five faculty members and now enjoys the prestige of being an All Steinway School.
