Mark Selinger, MIS alumnus

“The MIS professors take an interest in you and your success,” says Mark Selinger ’07, senior systems analyst at EQT, a Pittsburgh-based energy company. “And the curriculum is tremendous. I still use the skills I acquired in the project management and database courses—just to name a few.”

Our faculty bring international diversity, real-world experience, and complete dedication

The Information Systems and Decision Sciences Department has eight full-time faculty. We are selective in who we accept as MIS majors, thus assuring an excellent student to faculty ratio. All MIS majors also take business courses from the renowned faculty at the Eberly College of Business.

All of our professors have doctorates, and most have PhDs in MIS. Many consult with large corporations. Every one of them considers their most important responsibility to be teaching their students. That comes first and foremost. And come the end of any semester, you will find them writing letters of recommendations to prospective employers.

All MIS majors work with an advisor from the Department of Information Systems and Decision Sciences.

Our professors are engaged with many activities that serve the university and greater community. Learn more about the Small Business Institute and Business Advisory Council.

See the Eberly Feature on Dr. Micki Hyde, where she talks about her experience, interests, and teaching style.
