Department of Mathematics

  • The Mathematics Department prepares students for work in any field that values the skills of an analytical mind, as well as for graduate school in mathematics and K-12 teaching.

    Undergraduate degrees offered by the department are the Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Mathematics, the Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Mathematics (Applied Track), and the Bachelor of Science in Education degree with a major in Mathematics Education. The first two degree programs are offered within the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, and the third is in conjunction with the College of Education and Educational Technology.

    The Mathematics Department also collaborates with the Department of Professional Studies in Education on a Bachelor of Science in Education degree with a major in Middle Level Education Grades 4-8 (Mathematics Specialization). The department also offers a minor in Mathematics, a minor in Applied Statistics, and a minor in Elementary and Middle School Mathematics.

    Graduate degrees offered by the Mathematics Department are the Master of Science in Applied Mathematics and the Master of Education in Mathematics Education.
