Knot theory is the study of mathematical objects, called knots. In this talk, we will learn what knots are, as well as learn some interesting open questions about knots. A lot of problems in knot theory can be simply stated, so everyone can work on them; but the solutions are still unknown! No prior knowledge of knot theory is needed ... and we will even have some interactive activities.
Undergraduate students must apply online for December 2017 graduation by April 1, 2017. The online application is available by logging on to MyIUP and selecting the Academics link. Next, go to the Academic Record section and choose Apply for Graduation (Undergraduate).
