Notes from Northpointe

IUP’s Northpointe regional campus is located immediately off Route 28 at Exit 18, approximately 30 miles northeast of Pittsburgh. The state-of-the-art facility opened in August, 2005, and offers a wide range of educational opportunities to the region.

The Great Place to Start Program provides the first year or more of courses in any of IUP’s 120 majors. Students are able to enroll in the Liberal Studies courses that are taught by experienced IUP faculty members. This gives students a great opportunity to begin their academic transcript.

The Associate’s Degree in Electro-Optics puts the student on the fast track to a challenging and rewarding high-tech career in photonics. A four-year degree option is available for students who choose to earn a B.S. Degree in Physics, with a track in Electro-Optics. The B.S. degree is available at the Indiana Campus.

The Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing is a collaborative program between IUP and Butler County Community College. All of the required courses are offered on the Northpointe Campus.

Additional Programs offered at IUP at Northpointe include: Licensed Practical Nursing, with both full and part-time options; Master’s in Education, designed for teachers K-12; Master’s in Adult Education and Communications Technology, which provides training with practical field experience; and Master's in Nursing—Education Track, which prepares BSNs for advanced nursing positions.
