Matthew Belgie ’91 Helps Orphanage in Haiti

Shortly after the devastation of the earthquake in Haiti, Matthew Belgie ’91 traveled there to lend a hand with an orphanage.

“It was apparent to me that some fellow IUP alumni or students had been there as well,” Matthew said, as evidenced by the photo at right.

“I also had a chance to spend some time shadowing Dr. John Perkins (below). He was a civil rights activist in the 1960s and is also founder of the Christian Community Development Association.”

Matthew is a National Youth Development Specialist for World Vision.

World Vision is a Christian humanitarian organization dedicated to working with children, families, and their communities worldwide to reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty and injustice.
