The wedding ceremony of Joe Kralik ’87 and Barb Cyphers took place at St. Vincent Basilica in Latrobe, Pa., on October 23, 2009.
Joe, an account executive with Albert Gallatin Home Care, is also a firefighter/EMT with the Mount Lebanon Fire Department and is the Pennsylvania state chairman for the Sons and Daughters of Pearl Harbor Survivors. A member of the Sigma Nu fraternity, he was also the first manager of IUP’s HUB Rock Cafe from 1989 to 1991.
Barb is the IT manager for PHW and is a professed member of Mother Teresa’s Lay Missionaries of Charity.
Guests at the wedding included Joe’s sisters, Patricia Kralik Tylka ’79 (Alpha Sigma Alpha) and Karen Kralik ’75 (Alpha Gamma Delta); his brother-in-law, Terry Tylka ’80 (Lambda Chi); Barb’s sister and brother, Elaine Cyphers ’83 and Barry Cyphers ’76; Linda Hagopian ’86; Deacon Joe Compomizzi ’85 (Phi Psi); Kathleen Connelly Tobin ’85, M’92; and best man Kevin Hughes ’92.
Clergy at the mass included Father Boniface Hicks, O.S.B., Father Jacques Daley, O.S.B., Father David Dreisch (a firefighter with Joe in Mt. Lebanon), and Deacon Joe Compomizzi.
The couple honeymooned in Riviera Maya, Mexico, visiting the Mayan ruins in Chichen Itza and swimming with the dolphins at Isla Mujeres.
