Jim is a biochemist for Sunoco in Wexford, Pa.  He worked for Ed Coleman’s (IUP Chemistry faculty member) rafting expedition service when we were students, as a whitewater guide at Ohiopyle.

Dane and his wife, Janet (an alumnus of Indiana University), currently live in Shepherdstown, W.V.

John has lived in Las Vegas for the past ten years as a construction consultant and is in the process of moving back to Pennsylvania.

Dane, John, and Jim knew each other quite well, all growing up close to each other in the Apollo/Spring Church area, remaining friends throughout college at IUP, and staying in touch after school.  I met John and Jim at IUP, and became close friends with John when I moved to Kittanning, where we became hunting and fishing companions.

The canoe trip down the Kiski River on July 5, 2009, was a stroke of luck, as the guys just happened to be getting together and John was visiting from Las Vegas.
