Dennis Cramer ’75, M’82 (at left, with James Markey) graduated from Purchase College, State University of New York, in May, 2007, with a Performance Certificate in Trombone. On a professional development leave from his teaching position with the Armstrong School District, Cramer studied trombone with James Markey of the New York Philharmonic. He also studied composition with Huang Ruo and composed a multimovement work for the IUP Trombone Choir and the halftime music for the Ford City High School band, which he directs. In addition, Cramer organized and conducted the Purchase Wind Ensemble in two performances on campus.
Cramer is in his thirty-first year at Ford City, and has performed with the IUP Trombone Choir for the past eleven years as a volunteer. He also performs with the Butler Symphony Orchestra.
