Big Indian alumnus swimmer Jim Hoover ’74 was the driving force behind the recent reunion swim meet held April 4 at the Memorial Field House pool. His ’70s era teammates Jim Devine ’73, Dan Fritz ’74, Eric Hangeland ’77, and Dan McCuen ’71 joined Hoover to challenge Crimson Hawk alumni and current senior swimmers. The “most experienced” swimmers were handicapped twenty seconds per one hundred yards. Donors purchased more advantage by buying more seconds.

In a supportive role were honorary coaches Peggy Lepley-Hermann ’49 and Susan Lepley Miller ’72, M’76, wife and daughter respectively of coach Eugene Lepley M’60.
Said Hoover, “It’s a good reason to get back in shape, have some fun, and support the current team. I’d like to see it become an annual event.”
The Big Indian alumni edged out the competition 38-36. Alumni swimmers are urged to contact Hoover at firstname.lastname@example.org or current Crimson Hawks coach Chris Villa at email@example.com.
