James ”JT” Taylor ’86 has joined Michael Baker Jr., Inc., as director of Health and Safety. JT comes to Baker after serving 25 years in the aerospace industry, most recently as senior corporate safety staff with United Space Alliance.

In his new role, he is responsible for the leadership of the safety program and for development and implementation of policies, procedures, programs, and tools to ensure compliance with regulations and policies in a way that leads to a safe and injury-free work environment. He will coordinate health and safety audit programs, including corrective action plan tracking—both internal and external—as well as developing and implementing effective safety training programs such as fall protection, OSHA construction, and new hire training. JT will also provide functional expertise and strategic direction to achieve Baker’s vision of an accident-free workplace, and establish a high standard of behavior for all employees and managers that are reinforced through feedback and coaching.

“We are pleased to welcome JT to Baker as director of our Health and Safety Program. Baker is committed to the health and safety of our employees—it is one of our primary values,” said Joseph Beck, chief practice officer. “JT possesses the knowledge, experience, and skills to lead Baker in this vitally important commitment.”

Taylor holds a Master of Business Administration in Aviation Management from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Safety from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
