Darren Doutt ’93 Manages “War Horse”

Darren Doutt

As company manager of the national tour of Tony Award-winning War Horse, Darren Doutt ’93 said he finds himself working 12-hour days, six days a week, to handle the business logistics of running the show.

The play, about a young man who enlists to serve in World War I after his horse is sold to the cavalry, features horses that are life-sized puppets, each manipulated by three puppeteers.

A resident of Los Angeles and Las Vegas, Darren said the tour has stops in 30 cities planned for 2012–2013 and is scheduling more than 40 the following year.
