William Davie Jr. ’91 Receives Gold Medal

William Davie

William Davie Jr. ’91 received the U.S. Department of Commerce’s highest honorary award, the Gold Medal, for his role in providing vital new statistics about the health care, transportation, and financial sectors of the U.S. economy to public and private data users. Secretary of Commerce John Bryson presented him with the award at a ceremony in Washington, D.C.

William is assistant division chief for Research and Methodology in the Service Sector Statistics Division of the U.S. Census Bureau. He lives in La Plata, Maryland, with his wife, Heather, and children, Emma and Ryan. He is the son of Mary Oravec Davie ’61, M’64, of Vintondale, Pennsylvania.
