Ellen Quinn McCabe ’84 to Help Businesses Decode State and Local Tax Puzzles

Ellen McCabe

Ellen Quinn McCabe ’84 has joined LarsonAllen as a principal leading the firm’s state and local tax (SALT) practice. She works across all of the firm’s industry lines, helping clients maximize tax advantages, minimize tax exposure, and stay compliant within single or multi-state filings.

“Each state has a different set of rules—it’s almost like fifty different countries,” Ellen said.

Her tax services include income and franchise, sales and use, employment tax, unclaimed property, and personal property. In addition, McCabe will be in charge of building a team to help grow LarsonAllen’s SALT practice.

Ellen has more than twenty-five years of professional experience in the government, private sector, and public accounting. Prior to LarsonAllen, she led the SALT practice for Ernst & Young’s Cleveland-area location. She has assisted clients with legal entity restructurings, due diligence, nexus reviews, voluntary compliance, audit resolution, business registrations, and tax compliance.

Ellen sits on the board of the Basal Cell Carcinoma Nevus Syndrome Life Support Network and is a member of the Ohio Society of Public Accountants (OSCPA) and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She earned her bachelor’s degree from IUP and a master’s degree in taxation from Robert Morris University.
