On August 15, 2010, Ron Shuma ’86 and Michael Sarkozi were married in front of family and friends in a ceremony officiated by Rabbi Sharon Kleinbaum in East Hampton, N.Y.

Because New York State has not yet legalized same sex marriages performed in the state of New York, but recognizes same sex marriages performed in other states which have legalized same sex marriage, the couple was legally married in Connecticut ten days earlier in a private ceremony also performed by Rabbi Kleinbaum, at the courthouse in Greenwich, Conn.
