Living Learning Together At IUP

  • A Living Learning Community is a group of students who live together in a residence hall with a similar academic pursuit or interest area.

Through partnership with a variety of academic departments, faculty, and staff, Living Learning Communities at IUP provide students opportunities to extend their learning beyond the classroom and into our residence halls, which tie directly into their academic success at IUP.

IUP Living Learning Communities strive to achieve the following goals:

    • Develop a purposeful, open, just, disciplined, caring, and celebratory community.
    • Provide a living learning community that nurtures students’ intellectual, personal, occupational, and social learning and development.
    • Provide attractive, comfortable, safe, and well-maintained facilities.

Each Living Learning Community is unique in the goals and events offered, but all have:

    • Intentional events and opportunities to develop a close-knit community that fosters a sense of belonging.
    • Dedicated staff members to ensure the success and engagement of the students within the community.
  • Experience all that IUP has to offer
