The IUP Lively Arts Ovations series will present Mummenschanz for one night only on Friday, February 14, at 7:00 p.m. Their performance, you & me, will take place on the campus of Indiana University of Pennsylvania in Fisher Auditorium in the Performing Arts Center.
This next production on the 2019-20 Ovations series for IUP Lively Arts will bring you & me, a creation by the visionary Mummenschanz troupe that brings their larger-than-life creations to life right before your very eyes. Allow your imagination to flourish and fantasy to bloom as you encounter a world of extreme creativity. Experience the life of an oversized frog contemplating dinner and a graceful swan gliding across the waterless stage. Escape to an underwater world to encounter jellyfish and seahorses in their natural habitat. And enjoy the traditional acrobatics of their classic sketches that have stood the test of time.
Since its successful three-year run on Broadway, Swiss-based theater troupe Mummenschanz has pioneered a new form of visual theater that has since spawned multiple new genres reclaiming their legacy. Mummenschanz has been dazzling audiences worldwide for more than 47 years. By creating a playful yet compelling experience through the inventive use of shadow, light, and creative manipulation of objects, Mummenschanz offers timeless insight on the human condition. The result is a visually stunning spectacle that transcends cultural barriers and sparks the imagination.
A perfect setting for a magical Valentine's Day for all ages, you & me focuses on the love and mutual joy the audiences and performers experience during Mummenschanz's one-of-a-kind theatrical performances—hence the title, “you & me.”
Tickets for this event are available for purchase online through the Lively Arts website or by calling the ticket hotline at 724-357-1313. They can also be purchased at the Performing Arts Center Ticket Office in Fisher Auditorium. Any seats remaining will be sold at the door starting one hour prior to the performance. Tickets are priced at $22 for regular admission, $18 for seniors/I-Card/military, and $11 for students and children. Online tickets are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The ticket hotline and ticket office in Fisher Auditorium are open from noon to 5:00 p.m. weekdays. The ticket office is closed for university holidays.
