Pre-Concert Talk: Ann Labounsky

Organist Ann Labounsky will talk about her solo recital and the world premiere of the an AGO commissioned work, Christopher Adler’s "Construct: for organ," the 2017 winning composition.

A solo organ recital by Ann Labounsky featuring the world premiere of Christopher Adler’s "Construct: for organ," the 2017 winning composition for the second annual Ronald G. Pogorzelski and Lester D. Yankee Memorial Competition sponsored by the American Guild of Organists (AGO).


There will also be a reception following the performance, to which all are invited to attend.

This event is co-hosted by the Carol Teti Memorial Organ Scholarship Committee and the Indiana, Pennsylvania, Chapter of the AGO.

Scott Joplin Memorial Recital

A Recital commemorating the 100th anniversary of Scott Joplin's death in 1917, the recital will present Joplin favorites and lesser known gems. Music Historian Matt Baumer will offer historical context and perform along with IUP faculty pianists Sun-Min Kim and Evan Englestad, soprano Anqwenique Wingfield, and the Hoodlebug Brass.

Showcase: IUP Brass Area

The faculty and students of the IUP Brass Area will present a showcase concert, including featured preformers from HoodleBug Brass, Trumpet Ensemble, Horn Ensemble, Trombone Ensemble, Tubaphonium Ensemble, and the IUP Brass Ensemble. Four Hundred years of brass music will be represented on this diverest and entertaining concert.

Admission is free and open to the public.
