Concert: IMTA: Dorothy Sutton Festival Concert

Gorell Recital Hall, Second Floor Sutton Hall

Indiana Musicale, the Indiana chapter of the Pennsylvania Music Teacher's Association (IMTA) will hold their local preliminary audition day in Cogswell Hall, room 120. The auditions will conclude with a performance at 2:30 pm in the Gorell Recital Hall. Qualified students will be given the opportunity to participate in the State PMTA festival.

This recital, celebrating Dr. Zach Collins’ 10th year on the IUP Department of Music Faculty, will feature "Encounters II" by William Kraft, "Zachary Variations" by Douglas Briley, “Hummingbrrd" by Steven Bryant, "Concert Allegro" by Alexey Lebedev, "The Effervescent Ballroom" by Frank Gulino, and “Syrinx" by Claude Debussy. Collins will be joined by Dr. Henry Wong Doe, piano.

Guest Alumni Recital: Jon Wylie, tuba

Gorell Recital Hall, Second Floor Sutton Hall

IUP alumnus, Jon Wylie, will perform a solo tuba recital. Following his graduation from IUP he earned his Master of Music in Tuba Performance from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth Texas. He immediately won a position with the Navy Band Southwest in San Diego where he is Musician Third Class and Petty officer. In 2015 Jon was honored with the Blue Jacket of the Year award by the band. Jon will be accompanied by Dr. Sun Min Kim.
