Education Librarian

  • Dr. Kelly Heider, IUP Libraries’ education librarian, serves as bibliographer to the following departments and programs:

    • Adult and Community Education
    • Counseling
    • Developmental Studies
    • Educational and School Psychology
    • Doctoral Program in School Psychology
    • Professional Studies in Education
    • Doctoral Program in Curriculum and Instruction
    • Doctoral Program in Administration and Leadership
    • Special Education
    • Student Affairs in Higher Education 

    In addition to her collection development duties, Dr. Heider also provides instruction, reference service, web page development, and outreach to faculty and students in the College of Education and Educational Technology.

    The IUP Libraries provide access to two collections, both managed by Dr. Heider, that are of great interest to the faculty and students of the College of Education: the Children’s Collection and the K-12 Textbook Collection (both collections are located on the second floor of Stabley Library). 

    Dr. Heider also works closely with the College of Education and the Indiana County Early Care and Education Center (IndiKids) to coordinate Wild about Books, a volunteer program for Early Childhood and Elementary Education students.

    Dr. Heider also coordinates several programs which serve the university and the Indiana community. They include Crimson Scholars, the Treasures for Children Book Drive, and the Scholastic Book Fair.
