2015 Annual Writing Workshop

The Liberal Studies Office is sponsoring the annual Writing Workshop on May 12–13, 2015.  The workshop will be held in Stabley 101. (Attendance at a writing workshop is one of the requirements for a Type I Writing Professor designation).

You may register for the workshop online.

  • Registration deadline: Wednesday, May 6, at noon
  • Teaching assistants are welcome to attend!

Participants will enjoy a continental breakfast each morning and delicious lunches each day. Breakfast will begin at 8:30 a.m. The workshop will begin at 9:00 a.m.and conclude at 4:00 p.m. both days.

2013 Annual Writing Workshop

The Liberal Studies Office is sponsoring the annual Writing Workshop on May 20, 21, and 22, 2013 (two and a half days). The workshop will be held in the Monongahela Room in the HUB on Monday and Tuesday and in Stabley 101 on Wednesday morning. (Attendance at a writing workshop is one of the requirements for a Type I Writing Professor designation).

Teaching assistants are welcome to attend!

Participants will enjoy a continental breakfast each morning and delicious lunches on Monday and Tuesday, as Wednesday will be a half day in the morning. Breakfast will begin at 8:30 a.m., and the workshop will begin at 9:00 a.m. Thursday’s session will be a half-day program in the morning.

Liberal Studies Workshops for the New Curriculum

The Liberal Studies Office will have 14 one-hour workshops in October 2012 relating to the new curriculum implementation. These sessions will provide help for individuals and departments with course revisions for the Liberal Studies Electives and Global and Multicultural Awareness categories.

Any other information you might want to discuss, from advising information to general (or specific) information about the change to the new curriculum, is welcome. These informal sessions will address your individual concerns. There is no formal presentation, so please come prepared with your questions.

Dates/Locations:

Wednesday, October 10: 2:00–3:00 in Stabley 203, and 3:00–4:00 in Stabley 101

Friday, October 12: 8:00–9:00 and 9:00–10:00 in Stabley 101

Monday, October 15: 10:00–11:00 in Stabley 210, 11:00–12:00 and 1:00–2:00 in Stabley 101

Tuesday, October 16: 8:00–9:00, 9:00–10:00, 3:00–4:00 in Stabley 210

Thursday, October 18: 10:00–11:00 and 11:00–12:00 in Stabley 101, 1:00–2:00 and 2:00–3:00 in Stabley 203

Liberal Studies Writing Workshop Finalized

The annual Liberal Studies Writing Workshop will be held on May 15, 16, and 17, 2012, in the Monongahela Room in the HUB.

Breakfast will begin at 8:30 each morning. The workshop will begin at 9:00 a.m. and finish at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday. On Thursday, the workshop will begin at 9:00 a.m. and finish at noon. Lunch will be provided on Tuesday and Wednesday.

These workshops are designed to help faculty members obtain Type 1 Professor Commitment (W).
