Indiana County WalkWorks Program Kick-Off and Special Tours Schedule

Have you been looking for a fun, free and frequent way to exercise outside? This is your chance! Join the new WalkWorks walking groups in 4 different communities as they kick off their walking routes. You can also join some special tours in the county this summer, such as the Kids Walking Tour at the Historical Society with Sara Rutledge on July 10 and the Allegheny Arboretum with Jerry Pickering on August 6.

KHSS Graduate Receives the 2015 Young Alumni Achievement Award

David Andrews (’05) recently won the 2015 IUP Young Alumni Achievement Award. Andrews earned his bachelor’s degree in sports administration, with a minor in business administration. In 2008, he earned a master’s degree in sport science with a major in sport management.

Exercise Science Students Raise Over $2,000 for Leukemia and Lymphoma Society

Health and Physical Education students participated in the 2014 “Race to Anyplace” stationary bike race, riding a total of 178 miles in the six-hour race. The club has participated in this event over the past five years, raising nearly $7,000 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Health and Physical Education students recently competed at the Scholarly Conference on College Sport, a renowned national case study competition, April 21–23, 2010, at the University of North Carolina.
