Minor in Journalism and Public Relations
Our innovative, flexible journalism program gives you the freedom to pick most of your major courses. You can also choose a second major or minor and take an internship to tailor your degree to the kind of career you want.
Your professors will help you master the craft of writing, developing your expertise in putting great stories together quickly to fit any kind of media. They’ll help you find opportunities and internships that can set your resume apart at graduation. Each student decides, with an advisor, what directions his or her education will take.
Undergraduate students receive recognition on the Dean’s List for each semester (or summer sessions cumulatively) in which they earn at least a 3.25 grade-point average based on at least 12 semester hours of graded (not pass/fail) coursework.
The Journalism and Public Relations Department commencement ceremony will be held on Friday, May 12, at 7:00 p.m. on the Main Stage, Waller Hall. Tickets are not required for the department ceremony.
