The virtual private network (VPN) uses the Internet to provide remote offices or individual users with secure access to the university’s network.

The VPN must be used to:

  • Access network resources like the project directory or your home directory from off campus.
  • Access some library resources (online catalogs, for example). See Special VPN Setting for Library Database Access.
  • Access the Banner web client from off campus.
  • Access the CMS from off campus.
  • Access the LDAP service from off campus.

Special VPN Setting for Library Database Access
If you are experiencing problems reaching a library database using the VPN from an off-site location, you may need to change the default gateway settings on your VPN.
