Sophos Endpoint Security and Control

Effective July 1, 2010, Sophos Endpoint Security and Control is the anti-virus software distributed and supported by the IT Support Center.  Sophos is also available to IUP faculty, staff, and students to download for use on a home PC. 

To run a scan using Sophos:

1. From the Start Menu, choose Programs (or All Programs).
2. Choose Sophos.
3. Choose Sophos Endpoint Security and Control.
4. Click Scan my computer. The scan will begin. Please note that it may remain at 2 percent for a long time. This is normal. 

To scan selected drives (a flash drive, for example):

1. Start Sophos as indicated in steps 1 through 3 above.
2. Click Scans.
3. Click Set up a new scan.
4. Click the boxes next to the drives you'd like to scan.
5. Click Save and start.
