Wimba Classroom allows students and instructors to interact in a “virtual” classroom in real time. Students and their professors can communicate using text-chat or voice chat (requires a microphone headset) to view a shared application, to view PowerPoint slides, and to share a whiteboard.
Once you have entered a classroom, you will need to make sure that your computer is ready to use the Wimba Classroom—you will need to run the Setup Wizard. This only needs to be completed one time for each computer that will be used to run Classroom. This wizard will test your system for voice and audio capabilities and ensure that you are able to take full advantage of the features in the room. Be sure you have your microphone and speakers connected prior to beginning this wizard. For details, please see the article titled Running the Wimba Setup Wizard for Desire2Learn or Moodle.
Accessing a Wimba Classroom with Moodle
You can enter a Wimba Classroom in one of two ways. The first is by selecting a classroom link in a Moodle week or topic section. The second is to select the name of an available classroom from a list. Please see the descriptions below for details.
Accessing an Individual Wimba Classroom
To enter an individual room, select the link for the room located in an individual week or topic of a course. For example, the image below shows an activity link in the weekly format to an individual classroom titled Lecture 1.

Select a Wimba Classroom from a list of rooms
To view a list of the Wimba Classroom rooms available for a course, select the Wimba Classroom link in the Activities Block, as indicated by the red arrow.

From the list of available rooms, select the desired one and then select the launch arrow button found in the upper left-hand corner of the screen.
