Students have three different computing accounts: network, e-mail, and URSA. The network and e-mail accounts use the same four-character username but use a separate, distinct password. Each account provides access to various computing services provided by the university.

Student e-mail and network accounts are active after the student pays the advance deposit fee to enroll at IUP. Student accounts are inactivated sixty days after their graduation date. Accounts for undergraduate students who do not re-enroll are inactivated after approximately one year of non-attendance. Accounts for graduate students who do not re-enroll are inactivated after approximately six months of non-attendance.
