Instructors who utilize the Moodle Weekly course format can set the number of weeks that students will see. For example, instead of showing a whole 15 weeks for a semester, you can choose to show only one or two weeks at a time.

Follow the instructions below to change the number of weeks displayed in the format.

  1. Once in your Moodle course, go to the Administration block and select Settings.
  2. On the Edit course settings screen in the General section, scroll down to find the label Number of weeks/topics.
  3. From the drop-down menu next to the label Number of Weeks/Topics, select total number of weeks to display. You can choose between 1–52 weeks. Once the desired number is chosen, scroll to the bottom of the screen and click on the Save changes button.
  4. The course start date initially displayed in a course reflects when the course is created. Changing the course start date is easily accomplished at the same time you update the number of weeks shown. Simply select the appropriate date from the drop-down menus next to the label Course Start Date. Once the information is selected, scroll to the bottom of the screen and select the Save Changes button.

Some of the other things you can set in the General section include choosing how hidden sections are displayed as being collapsed or totally hidden, as well as whether to show the students the gradebook or not.
