Wireless Network Requirements

The IUP wireless network is supported by most modern operating systems such as Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista, Mac OS X, and the Apple iPhone/iPod Touch.

Directions can be found for various supported systems here. The wireless network requires a 802.11a/g/n compliant wireless network card that supports the WPA security policy with TKIP encryption or the WPA2 security policy with AES or TKIP encryption.  The WiFi Alliance has a list of certified wireless cards that should work with IUP's wireless network.  This list doesn't contain all compliant cards, just certified, so there are many other cards that may work as well.

If you currently have an integrated 802.11a/g/n wireless card, PCMCIA wireless card, or USB wireless card, and are having trouble connecting to the wireless network using the wireless setup guides, please go to the IT Support Center for assistance.

The IT Support Center will be able to test and verify if it will work with the IUP wireless infrastructure, and if successful, setup your wireless connection for you.
