Respondus is a Windows-based authoring tool that allows you to create and manage quizzes and exams for Moodle. With Respondus you can create your own exam questions, import questions from publisher test banks, or import from other file formats such as Microsoft Word. In order to get started using Respondus, you will need to download and install the software on your computer. Links to download the software, license file, and user manuals are provided below.
Respondus is available to current faculty and staff for campus or home use. You will be prompted to enter your username and password when downloading the software or viewing the license file.
Please Note: For Moodle please use the IMS QTI personality.
Important! Enter your username as iupmsd\username (note the direction of the slash).
Respondus 4 (Windows 7, Windows Vista, and Windows XP)
- Download Respondus 4 to any location on your computer.
- After the download is complete, double click on "Respondus4Campus.exe."
- You will be prompted to enter the Institution Name, Local Support Contact, and Installation Password. Use the following link to view this information: Respondus License. Please note that you will be required to log in again to view this file.
- Follow the remaining prompts and finish the installation
