The whitelist identifies e-mail addresses or subdomains which will bypass the content filtering of the anti-spam service. If you receive an e-mail message from an e-mail address or subdomain on your whitelist, it will never be flagged as spam.
The blacklist identifies e-mail addresses or subdomains that will always be flagged as spam, unless the e-maill address or subdomain appears on your whitelist.
In the Automated listing settings of the anti-spam service, the default settings are:
- When I send a message, I want the recipient to be automatically whitelisted.
This setting will add any recipient (either via compose or reply) to be added to your whitelist.
- When I report a false-positive (classified as spam but shouldn’t be), I want the sender to be automatically whitelisted.
With this default setting, if a message is flagged as spam, but you feel that it shouldn’t be, you can report this by forwarding the message as an attachment to pollustop@iup.edu. The sender will automatically be added to your personal whitelist.
- When I report a false-negative (not classified as spam but should be), I don’t want the sender to be automatically blacklisted.
With this default setting, the send will not be automatically blacklisted if you report it.
