The JunkMail folder is used with the anti-spam service to store messages that are flagged as spam. You can create the JunkMail folder from imail, Thunderbird, or Outlook.
How to Create the JunkMail Folder Using the imail Layout
- Log into imail at https://imail.iup.edu. Select imail for the layout.
- Right-click on your account name (username@iup.edu) in the folders pane on the left.
- Choose Create Folder.
- In the Folder Name text box, enter JunkMail (no spaces, uppercase J and M).
- Click the Create button.
Note: If you create the folder in imail, but you use Thunderbird or Outlook, you’ll need to update your folder list in Thunderbird or Outlook.
In Thunderbird:
- Right-click on your account name, and choose Subscribe...
- Select JunkMail from the list.
- Click Subscribe.
- Click OK.
In Outlook:
- Right-click on your IMAP account and choose IMAP Folders.
- Click Query.
- Select JunkMail from the list.
- Click Subscribe.
- Click OK.
How to Create the JunkMail folder in Thunderbird or Microsoft Outlook
- Right-click on your IUP e-mail account name in the Folders pane.
- Choose New Folder...
- In the Folder Name text box, enter JunkMail (no spaces, uppercase J and M).
- Click OK.
