How to Change Your Username (Employees Only)

IUP employees are permitted to change their username one time (unless a legal name change has taken place). The steps below explain how to change your username.

  1. Open a Web browser and go to MyIUP. Click on Sign in to MyIUP.
  2. Enter your username and network password, then click Login.
  3. Select Personal Info from the navigation bar on top.
  4. Select IUP computer account information for employees under the Personal information portlet.
  5. Record Your Initial IUP Computing Password information, which can be found at the top of the screen. When the rename is processed, your password will be reset to its "initial password."
  6. Select Click Here in the sentence that begins with “If you wish to change your IUP Computing Username.” If you do not see this sentence, you have already changed your username. Please contact the IT Support Center for assistance.
  7. Carefully read the Usage and Criteria instructions before entering your new username.
  8. Enter the desired username in the box labeled New Username.
  9. Click Change Username. If the desired username meets the necessary criteria, you will receive a message that states:The rename request was submitted successfully. Note: Account renames are processed within one business day of the request. Your new username will not be active for one business day. Until then, please continue to use your old username when logging on.
