The administrative desktop and network offers its users a state of the art PC and networking environment providing powerful office productivity tools (a word processor, spreadsheet, presentation manager, & database) plus network connectivity within an office, between offices, and to the internet.

Administrative Network Orientation
This 30-minute presentation provides an overview of the administrative network and the standard administrative desktop.  It is recommend for all employees who are new to the administrative network.  Please print the PowerPoint slides for note-taking before you begin the presentation.  You may also view it in full screen mode.
Administrative Network Contacts
Each office on the administrative network is asked to identify a primary and a secondary network contact to oversee security for that office's segment of the administrative network.
Maintenance Release 3
Beginning June 30, 2008, the IT Support Center will roll out Maintenance Release 3 for Windows XP to all administrative networked PCs.  This will install Office 2007, as well as updates to SAP and Adobe Reader.

To keep PCs running more efficiently and protected from viruses and spyware, a number of tasks are performed overnight on the administrative desktop.

Information about SMS Client and Advertised Programs
SMS Client and its Advertised Programs component are products distributed and supported by the IT Support Center as part of the standard administrative network model. The main purpose of the SMS client and the Advertised Programs module is to complete software upgrades and installations remotely.
