How to Connect to the IUP Wireless Network with a Blackberry Playbook

Please note: The IT Support Center does not provide support for personal mobile devices like tablets and smartphones. The instructions below are provided as a resource to students and employees who wish to set up their own devices.

The staff at the IT Support Center cannot set up these devices; however, they can assist when there may be an issue with your network and/or e-mail password. Keep in mind that you can reset your own network password and reset your own e-mail password.

  1. From the home screen, tap the Gear icon in the top right corner.
  2. Form the menu on the left, tap Wi-Fi.
  3. Verify the Wi-Fi Connectivity is on. If it’s off, turn it on.
  4. Choose Connect Manually.
  5. For SSID, enter IUP. This must be entered in uppercase letters.
  6. For Security Type, choose WPA2 Enterprise.
  7. For Security Sub Type , choose PEAP.
  8. For Inner Link Security, choose MSCHAPv2.
  9. For username, enter iupmsd\username (substituting your IUP username, and paying attention to the direction of the slash). To locate the backward slash on the keyboard, tap 123sym, then tap the key with the blue dot.
  10. For password, enter your IUP network password.
  11. For CA Certificate and VPN Profiles, choose .
  12. For Band Type, choose Dual Band.
  13. Automatically Obtain IP Address and Allow inter-access point handover should be checked. You may need to scroll to see both options.
  14. Click Save. After about thirty seconds, the device should connect to the wireless network.
