The Request Student Picture Service was created at the request of ACPAC to provide authorized faculty members with photos of students in their courses. IT Services integrated the service into existing URSA technologies via the Faculty and Advisor menu. The pictures match the student I-Cards, and are updated on a daily basis.

Access and Security

In order to successfully request and receive student pictures, the user must be an active faculty employee and be assigned to a course as an instructor. The option to request the photos is available via the URSA Faculty and Advisors menu option. After selecting the course and requesting pictures for students in the course, the faculty member will receive an e-mail containing the link to the *.ZIP file (compressed file). The faculty member must be connected to the IUP network or remotely to the Virtual Private Network (VPN). Only the faculty member requesting the pictures will have access to the *.ZIP file.

Important Notes

Pictures will not be provided for students who have chosen the confidential indicator and/or have completed the Non-Disclosure Form. After downloading the picture file, please save it in a secured location, such as your H drive. Do not save the file to a thumb drive, external drive, or local laptop or PC drive (ex. C:\).

Quick Steps

The following are the brief steps to request and download student pictures.

  1. Login to MyIUP.
  2. Select the Acdemics link
  3. Select the photos link under the Student Information portlet.
  4. Select the Term and the course(s) and click Submit.
  5. Access your IUP e-mail account. An e-mail will be sent in a timely manner that will include the link to the *.ZIP file that is only accessible to the faculty member who submitted the request.  If you are off campus, you will need to connect to the Virtual Private Network (VPN) before you can access the file. If you are prompted for your username and password, enter your username as IUPMSD\username (replacing your username) and enter your network password.
  6. Save the file to a secured location. Be sure to delete the file when you no longer need it.
