Adding a Wimba Classroom to your Desire2Learn course is a three-step process.
The first step is to create the link to the room using the Content tool. The second step it to create the room and, lastly, to enter the room itself.
Creating the Wimba Classroom Link
- Once in your D2L course, select Content from the navbar.
- In Manage Content, click on Add Quicklink button then click on External Learning Tools from the drop-down menu.

- Onthe Insert Quick Link pop-upwindow, the Type drop-down menu should already be set to External Learning Tools. From the External LearningToolsdrop-down menu, select Wimba Classroom. Click on the Insert button.

- On the New Topic screen,from the Parent Module drop-down menu, select aModule name you have in your course where the Wimba Classroom will reside. (If you would like to create a new module, select the [add module] link, as shown by the red arrow.)
- Enter a title for the Wimba room.
- Click the Insert button. You are returned to the Edit Topic screen, then click the Save and Close or Savebutton.
Creating the Wimba Classroom
- Click on the name of the Wimba link, then, in the Wimba window, click the New button.

- On the Room Info tab, enter the title for the Wimba room, as shown by the red arrow near the top of the screen.

- Select any other settings from the tabs as desired, then click the Create button. You will be returned to the Wimba screen.

- Click to highlight the the name of the new room, then click the Launch button.

- Click on the Run Wizard button to prepare your machine to use Wimba.
- Now you are ready to conduct your class as planned.
