Software

  • In addition to the standard software provided in the public computing labs, IUP provides an extensive library of academic software for home use. Below is a list of of available software.    

    • Malwarebytes

      Comprehensive anti-malware software with built in real-time protection. IUP highly recommends students, staff, and faculty download and install this software on their personal machines. 
    • Sophos

      Sophos Endpoint Security and Control is the virus protection software licensed by the university. It is available to all current faculty, staff, and students for campus or home use.
    • Office 365 

      Microsoft Office 365 is the latest office software suite from Microsoft. The software suite is now available to all enrolled students, staff, and faculty through the Microsoft campus agreement that IUP participates in.
    • Windows 10 Education 

      Windows 10 Education is available through iup.onthehub.com which is a service that allows students to procure licensing at a discounted price for products such as Windows 10 Education edition and Parallels for Mac (not free). 
    • EndNote

      EndNote is a full-featured research and writing tool that generates bibliographies in specified output styles, maintains references, assists with downloading references from electronic databases (e.g., Ovid, Proquest), and supports citing references while writing. This product can be installed on a PC or Mac.
    • Mathematica

      Mathematica by Wolfram Research is available to all faculty, staff, and current registered students for academic-related activities at no additional cost to the end user.
    • NVivo

      NVivo is a qualitative data analysis software package designed for researchers working with very rich text-based and/or multimedia information, where deep levels of analysis on small or large volumes of data are required. If you need to handle rich information, where in-depth analysis on both small and large volumes of data are required, NVivo is your solution. It removes many of the manual tasks associated with analysis, like classifying, sorting, and arranging information, so you have more time to explore trends, test theories, and arrive at answers to questions.
    • IBM SPSS

      SPSS is a software package used to analyze data and perform complex calculations on data. SPSS software is heavily used in research projects to assist with breaking down data and providing reporting. 
    • AutoDesk

    The IUP Co-op Store offers software discounts to students and employees with a valid I-card. Visit the Technology Department at the IUP Co-op Store for additional information.

    Additional software is available through DreamSpark, a Microsoft program that provides Microsoft professional tools to IUP students at no charge.
