Configuring the Anti-spam service

  • Please read! By default, all accounts are enrolled in the anti-spam service. In the event you have opted out and wish to opt back into the service, please read below.

    Opt Out of anti-spam service 

    The steps below should be followed if you wish to opt out (or turn off) the anti-spam service on your IUP e-mail account.

    1. Log into imail at  https://imail.iup.edu. You must choose the imail Layout to access the anti-spam settings.
    2. Click the Anti-Spam link (in the gray row at the top, toward the right).
    3. Under Spam filter, change the option from want to don’t want.
    4. Scroll to the bottom of the Anti-spam window and click the Save Settings button.

    5. Scroll to the bottom of the Anti-spam window and click the Close button.
    6. Click Logout to exit imail.

    Opt In to the anti-spam service

    Before opting in to the anti-spam service, you must decide if you want to have potential spam flagged in your inbox, or moved to a JunkMail folder.

    If you want to utilize the JunkMail folder, you will need to create the folder before you continue. See How to Create the JunkMail Folder.

    1. Log into imail at https://imail.iup.edu. You must choose the imail Layout to access anti-spam settings.
    2. Click the Anti-Spam link (in the gray row at the top, toward the right).
    3. Under Spam filter, change the option from don’t want to want.
    4. Scroll to the bottom of the screen and click the Save Settings button.

    6. Click Logout to exit imail.
