These are some of the common questions regarding the IUP Live Mail Account.
Will my IUP e-mail messages be forwarded to my IUP Live Mail account?
No. After you’ve established your IUP Live Mail account, you have the option of linking the two accounts to copy messages to Live Mail, but this does not happen by default. You have the ability to do this up to the point that your IUP e-mail account is deactivated (60 days after graduation).
How much space does the IUP Live Mail account provide?
The IUP Live Mail account has 50GB of storage. In addition to the e-mail storage, you may also use this space to store calendar and contact information.
Can I transfer contacts from my imail account to IUP Live Mail?
You can manually import your contacts from imail into your IUP Live Mail account.
Will my e-mail messages automatically be moved from my imail account to my IUP Live Mail account?
No. After you’ve established your IUP Live Mail account, you must first link it to your IUP e-mail account before messages will be copied to your IUP Live Mail account.
Can I import my existing imail messages into Live Mail?
After your new IUP Live Mail account has been created, you have the option to connect your IUP e-mail account (if it is still active).
Once this has been completed, all e-mails and folders from your IUP e-mail account will be copied to your live.iup.edu account. Any new e-mail message sent to your IUP account will start to appear in your new IUP Live Mail. These messages will continue to appear in both accounts until your 60-day extension has expired and your IUP e-mail account is disabled.
Once your IUP e-mail account is disabled, e-mail messages sent to @iup.edu will no longer be delivered.
To import all of the messages that you received in your IUP e-mail account:
After clicking Finish, you will be returned to the "connect accounts" page. Under "Account Name," your IUP e-mail account will appear and the status should read "downloading." When the messages are copied over, the status will read "OK."
Please note that this will import (copy) all of your existing messages and folders from your IUP imail account. Due to the default folder names in IUP Live Mail, you may have to combine folders that have duplicate names.
Where can I get additional support for my Live Mail account?
You can get additional information on IUP Live Mail by using the help function within the Web app.
How can I change my Live Mail password?
Graduates who have signed up for an IUP Live Mail account can change their own IUP Live Mail account password while logged in to their Live Mail account.
Note: If you have forgotten your password, you will need to call the IT Support Center at 724-357-4000. After some identity verification, we can provide a temporary password. You will be able to change this with the steps outlined above.
Can I forward my Live Mail to other accounts? (e.g. Gmail, Yahoo)
Your IUP Live Mail messages can be forwarded to other e-mail accounts like Gmail or Hotmail. To forward your messages, follow these steps:
