Creating a Moment to Moment Scoring Slide

  • The Moment to Moment Scoring slide can be used to have participants rate something on a scale of 1 to 5 at regular intervals over a period of time. The Moment to Moment Scoring slide contains a question region for the question and a chart that shows the average response at each polling interval and a curve connecting the values.

    Advancing the presentation closes polling. The following is an example of a Moment to Moment Scoring slide:

    Inserting a Moment to Moment Scoring Slide

    1. Click on Insert Slide from the TurningPoint ribbon.
    2. From the drop-down menu, select Moment to Moment 1 to 5.
    3. By default, the question on the inserted slide will read, "On a scale of 1 to 5 rate: ____________." You may edit this text by clicking on the textbox and highlighting the text.
    4. The slide is now interactive and prepared for polling. The default polling cycle is 2 seconds.

    Changing the Moment to Moment Scoring Slide Settings

    1. Click on Tools from the TurningPoint ribbon.
    2. From the drop-down menu, click on Settings.
    3. From the hierarchy on the left side of the TurningPoint Settings window, click on the question text of the Moment to Moment Scoring slide.
    4. Settings for this slide will appear on the right side of the window. Under the section titled Moment to Moment Settings, you can change the Polling Cycle. This setting allows you to specify the refresh rate of the Moment to Moment graph. If set to 5, the Moment to Moment graph will refresh every 5 seconds.
    5. When you have finished changing the settings, click the Done button.

    Generating a Moment to Moment Report

    1. Click on Tools from the TurningPoint ribbon.
    2. From the drop-down menu, click on Reports.
    3. From the Sessions tab, click on Current Session, or locate the session (.tpz) file that contains a Moment to Moment Scoring slide. You may locate these files by clicking on the folder icon located directly beneath the words "Please select your session."
    4. Click on the Reports tab.
    5. From the Reports by Category menu, click on the + to the left of Other Reports.
    6. Click the checkbox next to Moment to Moment Results.
    7. You may choose to "Change numeric responses to alphabetic responses (1=A, 2=B, etc)" by clicking on the checkbox next to this setting.
    8. Click the Generate Report button.
    9. The report will be generated and displayed using Microsoft Excel.
