Following are definitions of some commonly used terms in the research-review process of the Institutional Review Board (IRB) for the Protection of Human Subjects:
All systematic investigations involving human subjects that are performed to meet academic requirements (e.g., thesis, dissertation, etc.) or designed for public dissemination under the aegis of IUP require Institutional Review Board (IRB) approval.
