The production examines the intricacies of David Livingstone's life through a dramatic interplay of historical text, movement, song, and dance.  The project is part of the international events being organized this year and next to mark the Livingstone bicentenary.  The script for the work has been devised and directed by IUP Theater faculty member Jeannie-Marie Brown, and is based on research by IUP English faculty member Adrian Wisnicki.  NOTE:  This play contains adult content, issues, language, and situations to which some audience members may object and is not suitable for children.

SUMMARY:Black Friday: The Musical (Keystone Repertory Theater)
DESCRIPTION:In preparation for its launch this summer, Keystone Repertory Theater is thrilled to announce that a staged reading of "Black Friday: The Musical" will be the first project for the newly created KRT Lab.  This program serves as a training ground for young theater professionals in playwriting, directing, and acting, where the focus is to nurture development of new works for the theater.  Written by Joe York and directed by Nicholas Hrutkay, this is an original rock musical set in a post-apocalyptic future where mall security reigns supreme.  NOTE:  This show contains language and situations to which some audience members may object and is not suitable for children.
