DESCRIPTION:Get an introduction to the essential materials and techniques of drawing, students will develop observational abilities and rendering skills. The instructor presents methods of describing objects in terms of line, form, value, shape, and texture. Course projects help students explore the principals of light, space, composition, study basic shapes and graphite and charcoal. Students will be encouraged to draw from life setting objects, study basic shapes and shading, and experiment with new tools and drawing media. By the end of the class, students will have skills necessary to develop their relationship to their own work and to convey ideas and concepts through drawling. This class is for both beginners and students with experience.This course is offered through Community University Studies.

SUMMARY:Workshop: "Ghost Hunting: A Short Introduction for Beginners"
DESCRIPTION:This three-hour workshop will provide those who are new to ghost investigation with protocols, advice, and instruction on using equipment. In addition, some of the theory and speculation behind ghost-lore and behavior will be discussed. A participant who completes this introductory workshop will be prepared to begin investigating on his/her own, or may choose to gain experience through the Field Experience being offered at IUP the same evening immediately following the workshop. Members of the Paranormal Society of IUP (PSIUP) will assist in instruction.

SUMMARY:Workshop: "Ghost Hunting: Field Experience"
DESCRIPTION:This field investigation is appropriate for experienced ghost investigators and those who have completed the “Ghost Hunting: A Short Introduction for Beginners” workshop. We will move in small groups through several on-campus sites, using cameras, tape recorders, meters, and other equipment to attempt to document possible paranormal activity. Experienced investigators from the Paranormal Society of IUP will assist with use of equipment and interpretation of results.Materials needed: Participants will need a flashlight and should bring a digital camera and tape recorder if at all possible. Walking, both inside and outside, is a part of the field experience.Prerequisites: Must have taken the beginners class
