The interview allows you to practice several behaviors such as answering tough interview questions smoothly, how to dress for an interview, recognizing body language, and practicing manners and eye contact.The interviews are recorded onto a DVD so that visual feedback can be provided during the interview session. Mock interviews are conducted Monday through Friday during the semester and may be scheduled by visiting the Career Development Center in Pratt 302. Once an appointment is scheduled, a résumé, cover letter, and job posting must be submitted at least two business days before the scheduled interview.

SUMMARY:Local Government Academy Municipal Fair - University of Pittsburgh  William Pitt Union
DESCRIPTION:At the Municipal Intern Fair, undergraduate and graduate students will be able to meet with representatives from 15 communities who have paid internships available this summer through Local Government Academy's Municipal Intern Program. Through the program, students will work full-time for 12 weeks during the summer (May-August), earning between $9 and $11 per hour. In order to qualify for an internship, you must be student whose education will be continuing the following semeser/term/year. Students will be encouraged to draw from life setting objects, study basic shapes and shading, and experiment with new tools and drawing media. By the end of the class, students will have skills necessary to develop their relationship to their own work and to convey ideas and concepts through drawling. DESCRIPTION:Get an introduction to the essential materials and techniques of drawing, students will develop observational abilities and rendering skills. The instructor presents methods of describing objects in terms of line, form, value, shape, and texture. Course projects help students explore the principals of light, space, composition, study basic shapes and graphite and charcoal. Students will be encouraged to draw from life setting objects, study basic shapes and shading, and experiment with new tools and drawing media. By the end of the class, students will have skills necessary to develop their relationship to their own work and to convey ideas and concepts through drawling. DESCRIPTION:This yoga class begins with basic postures, concentrating on flexibility, strength, balance, concentration, and breathing. As the class progresses, yoga flow and more advanced postures will be added according to needs of the participants. All ages levels of yoga practitioners are welcome. The goal of this class will be stress relief though physical movement. SUMMARY:Baltimore City Police Department Civil Service Exam and Agility Test
DESCRIPTION:Recruiters from the Baltimore City Police Department will be on campus this Sunday, May 5, 2013, conducting a civil service exam in Eberly Auditorium at 10:00 a.m., followed by a physical agility test at 2:30 p.m. on the Miller Stadium Track.Applicants will get 2 hours and 30 minutes to complete the test, although the recruiter says most take less time. No pre-registration is required by the police department, and applicants only need to bring their driver's license and wear something comfortable for the agility test.  Applicants must be a U.S. citizen.If you are planning on taking part in this exam, please email Jan Shellenbarger at jans@iup.edu so we can get a general idea of how many will be participating.
