An overnight tour is the best way to get to know the Honors College and how you might fit in here. You get the feel of the place because you stay with a student, often eating dinner here and spending the night, before you go to class and see the academic part of campus. It’s very important to have the whole experience, not just one part of it, which is why we recommend the overnight visit so highly.
During such a visit you can do the following:
- Attend evening activities
- Stay overnight in a student room in Whitmyre (the Honors Residence Hall)
- Attend a Core class
- Eat in the dining hall
- Ask Honors College students honest questions about their experiences, and get no-spin answers in return
- Meet with a professor in a department that interests you
- Go on a tour of Whitmyre and the IUP campus
- Sit in on a class in a major that interests you
- Have an interview or informational meeting with our assistant director, Kevin Berezansky
