    Paris, France

    Internship students begin with one month of intensive French grammar. During this month, internship interviews are conducted and job placement begins the second month of the program. Internship students enroll in two classes in addition to the job placement following the first month of grammar. It is strongly recommended for internship students to enroll in French 343 (Contemporary France).

    Students usually intern three-and-a-half days per week for ten weeks and receive up to six semester credits/eight Alma College credits for the internship. Interns are evaluated on-site and by the academic director and are graded based on a report of the experience written in French.

    Placements require that students have a minimum 2.75 GPA or equivalent and completion of four semesters of college-level French. The internship program is the same price as a semester or academic year program.

    Alma College offers a program of unpaid internships with major firms, museums, and schools in the Paris area. They vary from semester to semester, and new placements are regularly added to the list of available internships. Examples of recent internships in Paris are working at L'Oreal Cosmetics in the marketing department, providing legal research with an international law firm, journalism work at Newsweek magazine and marketing at Ralph Lauren. Internship placements are not confirmed until after arrival.

    London, England

    All internships are unpaid and require two classes in addition to their internship. Normally, 150-200 hours of work is awarded three semester credits, earning from 12-18 semester hours upon completion of the program. Specific placements vary from semester to semester, and new placements are regularly added to the list. Internship placements are not confirmed until after arrival.

    Cusco, Peru

    Interns are evaluated on site and by the academic director and are graded based on a report of the experience written in Spanish. Most placements require that the student have a good knowledge of spoken and written Spanish, while some placements require the student to speak the second language exclusively.

Internship placements are not confirmed until after arrival. The internship program is the same price as a semester or quarter program.
