Dr. Michael T. Williamson teaches poetry (from classical to modern), Jewish literature, British Literature from 1660-1900, Global Literature, and literature related to mysticism in the Department of English. He has published essays on the 19th-century woman poet Felicia Hemans, the 20th-century mystic writer Rabindranath Tagore, 20th-century Yiddish poetry, and the 20th-century comic writer P.G. Wodehouse. His book, The Heart of the World: Romanticism, Mysticism, and Differentiation in Yiddish Poetry, is forthcoming from Northwestern University Press.
